As co-investigator, Dr. Goodworth was awarded a 5-year National Institutes of Health (NIH) grant to study sensory integration, mobility, and falls in older adults. The principal investigator is affiliated with Harvard Medical School and the experimental research site is Massachusetts Eye and Ear Hospital.
Dr. Goodworth is en route to present at the American Academy of Forensic Sciences in Denver, CO in 2024 (https://www.aafs.org/) on topics of seat belt pretensioners and also on fetal outcomes when pregnant women are in a vehicle crash.
Restraint System Workshop
May 25th & June 1st
Dr. Goodworth provided an 8-hour interactive training on seat belt pre-tensioners, airbags, and occupant kinematics/biomechanics to members of CA Associations for Accident Reconstruction Specials in both northern and southern California regions. Training qualified for continuing education for attendees with ACTAR and included exciting deployment demonstrations.

Dr. Goodworth's research described occupant kinematics following pretensioner deployment in forward-leaning positions with live subjects.
